Ureteroscopy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure in which a small telescope or ureteroscope is inserted through the urethra and into the ureter to remove stones. The stone is crushed into small pieces with a laser. These fragments are removed with the fingernail. URS has a very high success rate in removing stones from the upper and lower ureters and kidneys
