The reproductive organ that produces sperm and hormones in males and those who are born male is called the testicles, or testes. They exist outside of your body. If your testicles change in any manner, consult your doctor. The temperature of your testicles is roughly two degrees Celsius lower than the rest of your body. Spermatogenesis, the production of sperm, benefits from cooler temperatures. The procedure takes place in tubes known as seminiferous tubules in each testis. Each testis contains a surprisingly large number of tubes—around 700. Sperm cells mature in 74 days on average. In the tubules, the immature cells receive the blood and nutrients they require. The epididymis, another sort of tube that runs down the back of your testicle, is where they are then pushed after that. The vas deferens, the tube that allows sperm to leave your body through your penis, is connected to the epididymis.
